As the 2025 calendar year comes to an end, Serie A can look back on a season marked by balance and competitiveness. Surprisingly, the team that collected the most points over the year was neither Napoli nor Inter, winners of the last two league titles, but Roma.
The Giallorossi claimed the unofficial “2025 Scudetto” by amassing 79 points in 36 league matches, a result built under Claudio Ranieri in the first part of the year and continued by Gian Piero Gasperini. Roma were also the most successful side in terms of victories, winning 26 Serie A matches in 2025, a figure the club has reached only three times before in its history.
Napoli finished second in the annual standings with 75 points under Antonio Conte, followed closely by Inter on 74 points, after a season split between Simone Inzaghi and Cristian Chivu. Milan and Juventus followed at a short distance, ending the year with 71 and 70 points respectively, though both played one additional match.
Just outside the top five, Bologna and Como stood out with impressive campaigns, closing 2025 on 60 and 58 points. They were followed by Atalanta (55) and Lazio (54), while Torino completed the top ten with 44 points, two more than Fiorentina, whose season was heavily affected by a poor second half.
In the lower half of the table were Udinese (42), Cagliari (40), Genoa (38) and Parma (35). Lecce and Hellas Verona closed the ranking with 34 and 31 points respectively, with Verona recording the weakest performance among teams present in Serie A throughout the entire year, although both managed to secure survival.
A separate assessment applies to promoted and relegated sides. Sassuolo, Cremonese and Pisa, promoted midway through the year, collected 22, 21 and 11 points respectively, figures that should be read alongside their strong performances in Serie B. Conversely, Venezia, Empoli and Monza struggled in Serie A before being relegated at the end of the 2024/2025 season, but have since rebounded in the second division and remain firmly in the promotion race.
