Alfonso Signorini, the current host of the Italian edition of Big Brother VIP, is under investigation by the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office on allegations of sexual assault and extortion. The inquiry follows a formal complaint filed just before Christmas by Antonio Medugno, a former contestant on the show. The investigation is being led by prosecutor Alessandro Gobbis and deputy prosecutor Letizia Mannella. The case gained public attention after allegations were amplified by controversial media figure Fabrizio Corona on his YouTube channel Falsissimo, where he described a supposed system of sexual favors in exchange for access to the reality show. In response, Signorini announced a precautionary self-suspension from broadcaster Mediaset, a decision the company said it accepted. He has also changed his legal team and is now represented by high-profile attorneys Daniela Missaglia and Domenico Aiello, who strongly deny the accusations and describe them as unfounded. At the same time, Signorini has filed a complaint against Corona for allegedly publishing private and sexually explicit messages. Corona has confirmed he is himself under investigation for unlawful dissemination of intimate material. What began as a media controversy has now evolved into a full judicial case, with investigations also launched internally by Mediaset and the show’s production company.
