Around one hundred people were evacuated by helicopter after a cable car accident on Monte Moro, near Macugnaga in northern Italy, at an altitude of 2,800 meters. The incident occurred after the cable car system was halted due to a malfunction at the upper station. According to preliminary reports, a cabin may have entered the station at excessive speed. Two cabins were involved: one struck the upper station structure, injuring three passengers, while another hit the lower station, injuring the operator. None of the injured are in life-threatening condition. Emergency services responded quickly, aided by a doctor and a nurse who happened to be nearby and provided first assistance. Firefighters coordinated the evacuation, which was completed without further complications.
