Nearly half of residents in Italy’s Trentino region made online purchases last year, placing it first nationwide for e-commerce usage. Valle d’Aosta and Tuscany follow closely, according to a study by CGIA Mestre. While Italian online spending reached nearly €59 billion in 2024, the country remains near the bottom of EU rankings for digital commerce adoption, ahead of only Bulgaria. Nonetheless, Italy has shown steady improvement over the past decade.
