Stellantis’ production dropped significantly in 2025, with a total of 379,706 vehicles manufactured, down 20% from the previous year. Passenger car output fell by 24.5% to 213,076 units, while commercial vehicle production decreased by 13.5% to 166,000.
The warning comes from the Italian Metalworkers Federation, the union representing the sector. According to the union, the results could have been even worse. Production in the last quarter, driven by the launch of the hybrid Fiat 500 at Mirafiori in Turin and the new Jeep Compass at Melfi, partially offset losses. Commercial vehicles also contributed positively, recovering about 10 percentage points in the final quarter.
Among the factories, only Mirafiori recorded growth (+16.5%) compared to 2024. All other plants experienced double-digit declines, ranging from –13.5% at Atessa to –47.2% at Melfi in central and southern Italy. In less than two years, production has halved compared to 2023, when 751,384 vehicles were produced, despite ministerial targets of reaching one million units.
