Arrivals of German tourists in Romagna are growing at double-digit rates, a trend that also involves Swiss and Austrian visitors. During the initial ten months of 2025, arrivals from Germany totaled 650,000, representing an 11% increase compared to the same period in 2024, while overnight stays approached 2.9 million, reflecting a 9.5% rise. Approximately 111,000 arrivals were recorded from Austria (+8.9%), accompanied by 383,000 overnight stays (+7.6%), while arrivals from Switzerland reached 266,000 (+7.4%) with one million overnight stays. ISTAT data reveal that between 2019 and last year the growth in German-speaking tourists was 38.7%. In terms of market share, these regions account for 27% of tourist visits and about one-third of overnight stays. To consolidate this relationship, advertising campaigns have been launched with TV and social media spots focusing on the destination’s appeal for families, young people and couples. The Munich-Rimini rail link is also set to begin sooner. Service will commence on April 2nd, ahead of the Easter weekend, which in German-speaking nations corresponds with the start of the one- or two-week school vacation.
