Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has set off on an official mission to Asia, starting with a visit to Oman. The trip will continue in the coming days with stops in Japan and South Korea.
While in the Gulf state, Meloni is due to hold a bilateral meeting with Sultan Haitham bin Tarik at the Al Barakah Royal Palace. The talks are scheduled for the afternoon, followed by a formal dinner hosted by the Sultan in honor of the Italian Prime Minister.
Meloni will then travel to Japan, where she is expected to arrive on January 15, which coincides with her 49th birthday. A bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi is scheduled for January 16. The final leg of the tour will take her to South Korea, where she will meet President Lee on January 19 to discuss key international issues and the further development of bilateral relations.
