The government has released the postage stamp calendar for 2026. It begins with a standard stamp dedicated to the Mattei Plan for Africa. Before the expected stamp for Republic Day celebrations on June 1 and the usual popular-themed releases, such as the Frate Indovino calendar on May 14, several stamps dedicated to historic companies will be issued on April 9. Alongside Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta spa and Maserati, marking the brand’s 100th anniversary, Agip (Eni), founded in Rome in 1926, is also featured. This isn't the only energy-themed stamp issue scheduled for the new year: the thematic series "Excellence of Italian Cultural Heritage" will include a stamp dedicated to Enrico Fermi on March 8th and one for the INFN (National Institute for Nuclear Physics) on August 8th. Finally, of particular significance is the stamp dedicated to the EUR architectural complex, a collection of Fascist-era buildings including the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana (or Palazzo della Civiltà del Lavoro), the renowned "Square Colosseum," where, among other events, the first Formula E race in Italy was held.
