Sound-absorbing panels for insulating rooms and buildings are experiencing continuous growth: according to data from Global Market Insights, their global market value is projected to reach $13.1 billion in 2024, representing a 35% increase from 2021. Among the prominent companies in the industry is the Italian firm Slalom, established in 2011, which has become a leader in acoustic design for the contract sector, encompassing hospitality—such as hotels and airports—as well as retail, including shops, restaurants, and shopping centers. Sustainability is essential to the company. "Our design approach is sustainable from beginning to end of the product life cycle", explains CEO Elettra De Pellegrin. This idea applies primarily to materials. "We started with 50% recycled content and are now at 96%. We have also moved toward more innovative solutions such as bio-based materials derived from biomass", she explains. The United States represents a key market that the Italian company has chosen to prioritize: "We established our first office in San Francisco", states De Pellegrin, "and in June, we will inaugurate the showroom in Chicago. Our identity is Italian, but we will also rely on local professionals".
