Bologna Airport has deployed body cameras for personnel across different sections of the building, who frequently deal with agitated and aggressive passengers on an almost daily basis. Forty devices will be made available to staff employed by the Bologna Airport company in order to ensure their safety. This is the first test in an Italian airport. In 2025, there were 96 cases of "aggressions" against Bologna workers, including complaints, insults, and verbal attacks. The reasons? The reports came mostly from the boarding and check-in sections, where customers were having issues with their luggage. However, they also took place in instances of flight delays and cancellations, such as those caused by weather conditions. Security has frequently had to step in. The bodycams will act as both a deterrent to aggression and, with appropriate security involvement, prevent verbal conflicts from turning into physical attacks. The staff will activate the devices by clicking a button, which will start recording any mistreatment.
