Nicol Delago made history by winning her first World Cup on the Di Prampero in Tarvisio. The 30-year-old from Val Gardena dominated the Friulian downhill, finishing in 1:46.28 for her most important victory of the season. Delago took advantage of her smoothness and softness on the wet snow, setting the quickest time in the second sector and then maintaining her high speeds all the way to the finish line. Behind her, Germany's Kira Weidle Winkelmann finished second, trailing by 0.20 seconds, and American Lindsey Vonn, third at 0.26 seconds, the last winner on the Di Prampero back in 2011. Just off the podium are Nina Ortlieb, fourth at 0.42, and Emma Aicher, fifth at 0.80. Delago's victory in Tarvisio marked her sixth World Cup podium result, following three second-place finishes and two third-place victories. The other Italians also did well: Laura Pirovano finished sixth at 0.85, tied with Breezy Johnson. Nadia Delago finished tenth at 1.15 with bib number 29, while Sofia Goggia came in eleventh at 1.35. Elena Curtoni was further behind, finishing 24th at 2.99 due to a line error. Lindsey Vonn leads the downhill rankings with 400 points, ahead of Aicher (256) and Weidle Winkelmann (232). Pirovano is fourth with 207, and Delago and Goggia are tied for fifth with 180. Vonn now ranks third overall with 510 points, trailing only Shiffrin and Rast, while Goggia is seventh with 466.
