Buen Camino, the comedy featuring Checco Zalone, directed by Gennaro Nunziante, and distributed by Medusa Film, co-produced with Indiana Production in collaboration with Mzl, has achieved a historic milestone. In just 24 days of release, the film grossed €68,823,069 with 8,562,320 admissions, making it the highest-grossing film in Italian box office history. The score beats the previous record set by Avatar, which earned €68.6 million, and confirms yet another victory for the Zalone-Nunziante combo. Buen Camino had already achieved a remarkable success upon its debut: on December 25, it grossed €5,671,922, marking the highest grossing day in Italy on Christmas Day to date, surpassing the record established by "Natale a New York". With a 78.8% market share, the film propelled the whole national film industry, bringing total Christmas Day revenue to more than €7 million, a level not seen since 2011. This triumph reaffirms Checco Zalone's essential role in Italian cinema, as well as the film's ability to draw large crowds back into theaters.
