Federica Brignone made an impressive comeback, finishing sixth in the World Cup giant slalom at Plan de Corones, just 300 days after suffering a serious injury that kept her off the slopes for nine months. "It was difficult", the Italian explained. "At first, I was stiff and wondering whether I was prepared. Then I remembered to breathe, and things improved slightly". After finishing seventh in the first run, Brignone stated that she felt better and better as the minutes passed: "With the adrenaline, I didn't feel the pain as much. It was an excellent test". The excitement continued following her second run, which placed her sixth overall. "I am overjoyed to be back on my skis; it was a great feeling. Returning in front of this crowd was really difficult but rewarding. I'm finally back too". The Aosta Valley champion now looks ahead with caution but confidence, saying, "I still have a few steps to go, but that's normal. I want to participate in as many races as possible to restore my speed while still respecting my body. I'll also go to Cortina to test myself and see if I can get back into sprint racing".
