Ferrari closed the 2026 edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona with encouraging reliability but without top results. The best finish came in the GTD class, where the number 21 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo ended the race in fifth place, while the number 033 finished eighth in GTD Pro.
The opening round of the IMSA SportsCar Championship proved demanding for the Maranello cars, as expected. Making its competitive debut, the 296 GT3 Evo showed excellent durability, with five of the six entries reaching the finish line. However, despite strong performances from drivers and crews, Ferrari was unable to fight for podium positions.
The race itself was heavily affected by extraordinary conditions, including the longest neutralisation in the event’s history - six hours and 33 minutes - caused by dense fog and high humidity.
In GTD Pro, Triarsi Competizione’s number 033 attempted to break into the leading group early on but gradually slipped out of contention. Worse luck struck Risi Competizione’s number 62, forced to retire after a collision in the third hour.
In the GTD class, AF Corse USA’s number 21 remained competitive for much of the race thanks to strong stints from its drivers, including factory debutant Tommaso Mosca, but ultimately settled for fifth after 661 laps. Ferrari now turns its focus to the next endurance challenge, the 12 Hours of Sebring in March.
