On January 31st and February 3rd, Teatro alla Scala will pay tribute to Carla Fracci, an important figure in dance history and a source of inspiration for entire generations of young people, not just in ballet. In this year, which marks the fifth anniversary of the great dancer's death and the 90th anniversary of her birth, her legacy will continue on through the extensive repertory of her selected roles and ballet performances. The protagonists of the two evenings will be the corps de ballet, soloists, principal dancers, étoiles, and international guests: on February 3 Marianela Nuñez, star of the Royal Ballet, returns to La Scala, while on January 31 Jacopo Tissi, principal dancer at the Dutch National Ballet, will appear. Maia Makhateli, principal dancer at the Dutch National Ballet, will make her debut on stage on January 31, and in both performances Patricio Revé—former principal dancer of the Queensland Ballet and the National Ballet of Cuba—will perform as an international guest, having also debuted at the Royal Ballet last May. The Orchestra of Teatro alla Scala will be conducted by Kevin Rhodes.
