The countdown to the Milan–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics has begun, and the economic benefits for Italy are starting to take shape. Banca Ifis' Research Department forecasts that the event will have a cumulative impact of €5.3 billion. The economic value will be concentrated predominantly in the participating regions: Lombardy will get more than 53% of the advantages, while Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige will receive more than 41%.
