Laura Pausini releases today Io Canto 2, her new covers album published by Warner Records / Warner Music Italy. The project is a heartfelt tribute to the great songwriters, performers and composers of Italian music history, while also embracing international songs with strong cultural or personal ties to Italy.
The tracklist spans more than sixty years, from 1960 to 2023. Highlights include the Portuguese adaptation of La mia storia tra le dita by Ana Carolina, Ja sei namorar by Tribalistas - fronted by Marisa Monte, who has Italian roots - and the French version of Due vite by Marco Mengoni. Pausini also performs Il cielo in una stanza by Gino Paoli in German, Portuguese and English, and pays homage to Madonna, another artist of Italian heritage, with a reinterpretation of La isla bonita.
Among the standout tracks is Felicità, featuring a symbolic duet with the late Lucio Dalla, one of Italy’s most influential songwriters. The album is available in a standard edition with 17 tracks and a deluxe edition with 21 tracks, released across multiple formats including deluxe CDs, coloured double vinyl editions and limited autographed versions.
On 13 March, Pausini will also release the Spanish-language version, Yo Canto 2, dedicated to iconic Latin American and Spanish songwriters. This edition celebrates the countries that have embraced her as a musical icon, from Spain and Argentina to Mexico, Colombia and Peru.
In March, Pausini will embark on her 11th world tour, produced by Friends&Partners. For the first time, the tour will open outside Italy on 27 March in Pamplona, before continuing across Spain, Latin America, the United States and Canada. European and Italian dates will follow in autumn, with stadium shows planned for 2027, including performances in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Pescara and a highly anticipated concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall on 28 October 2027.
