Poste Italiane continues its innovation journey to serve citizens, strengthening its offering and simplifying access to public administration services. A total of 150,652 passport applications have been submitted at Italian post offices. The initiative, active in 4,574 locations—including post offices in municipalities with fewer than 15,000 inhabitants and those located in large urban centers—represents a concrete response to the need to simplify procedures, reduce waiting times, and offer a convenient, widespread, and easily accessible alternative for obtaining a passport. Currently, passports can be requested at 4,157 Polis post offices and 417 post offices in large cities, including Bologna, Verona, Rome, Cagliari, Vicenza, Monza, Venice, Perugia, Ferrara, Milan, and Naples. As of February 5, 2026, 150,652 passport applications have already been submitted, including 110,885 at the 4,157 Polis offices in municipalities with fewer than 15,000 inhabitants, and 39,767 at the other 417 post offices in large urban centers. Among the municipalities participating in the Polis project, the most notable ones in terms of number of applications are those in the provinces of Verona (12,250), Vicenza (11,485), Monza (7,808), and Bergamo (7,741).
