Among this year's key innovations are the first 2-euro Reverse Proof coins (mirrored subject and sandblasted background) commemorating the 200th anniversary of Carlo Collodi's birth and his timeless Pinocchio, as well as the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, Italy's patron saint. The first 100-euro gold coin dedicated to Ferrari, a symbol of technological innovation, glamour, and competition, stands out, as do the two beautiful 20- and 50-euro gold coins dedicated to the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Tribute is paid to Riccardo Muti, orchestra conductor and ambassador of Italian musical excellence in the world, and to the 80th anniversary of the birth of the Italian Republic and women’s first vote.
