The wine industry directly supports approximately 70% of the local economy, and the average annual value of wine production is approximately 65 million euros. Direct sales from the winery increased to more than 40% by 2025, with exports accounting for 64.5% of sales. In terms of domestic sales, central Italy (65%) and notably Tuscany (45%) account for the majority. The North accounts for 32.6% of sales, while the South accounts for 2.3%. Exports are almost evenly distributed between Europe and non-EU nations. America (North and South) accounts for 34.5% of exports, while Europe (excluding Italy) is responsible for 29%. Germany continues to remain Nobile's primary market, accounting for 36% of exports. Despite the prospect of tariffs, the US market remains stable, accounting for 27.5% of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano exports.
