According to official estimates released in recent days, in 2025 Naples surpassed the milestone of over 20 million visitors, setting a historic record for the city and solidifying its status as one of the most beloved destinations not only in Italy but internationally. This positive result stems from a combination of cultural events, music, gastronomy, art, and a welcoming and diverse tourism offering that has attracted visitors from around the world. Among the current initiatives is the exhibition “Warhol vs. Banksy – Passage to Naples,” hosted at Villa Pignatelli. On one side is the iconic, reproduced, and celebrated world of Warhol, the artist who symbolized Pop Art and mass culture; on the other is the provocative and anonymous universe of Banksy, who turned street art into a global media phenomenon. The exhibition – open through June 2 – also tells the story of a deep connection with the city: thirty years apart, both artists were captivated by Naples, Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, and the Mediterranean energy of a cultural capital capable of inspiring diverse and revolutionary artistic languages.
