On Thursday, February 26, the Aula Magna of Palazzo Murena will host the 718th inauguration ceremony of the Studium Generale, which will start the 2025-2026 academic year at the University of Perugia. This annual event, which is one of the most solemn and significant moments in the University's life, reinforces the academic institution's central position in the cultural, scientific, and social landscape by renewing a centuries-old tradition that is deeply rooted in the history of the University and the city. The solemn ceremony will be preceded, on February 25, by a special academic initiative promoted by the Magnificent Rector, Prof. Massimiliano Marianelli: the Round Table "University, Bridges of Peace". This round table will bring together multiple rectors from Italian and international institutions at the University of Perugia's Palazzo Bernabei in Assisi, with the goal of establishing a shared policy paper on the active promotion of the value of peace among the participating universities.
