Terna has been recognized once more as a global sustainability champion. The Group, led by Giuseppina Di Foggia, has received the "Top 1%" ranking, the highest honor in the "Sustainability Yearbook 2026", S&P Global's annual benchmark publication for the ESG sector. The prominent international rating agency evaluated the ESG performance of more than 9,200 worldwide companies. Terna received the highest global score of 90 out of 100 in the "Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2025", issued by S&P Global on November 14, out of more than 200 energy utilities evaluated, with an average of 42 points. This marks the ninth year that the national transmission grid operator has achieved the highest evaluation level in the "Sustainability Yearbook". The S&P Global rating is based on rigorous economic, environmental, and social criteria that take into account all ESG dimensions, including environmental impact, climate strategy, community relations, human resource management, workplace safety, stakeholder engagement, corporate governance, risk management, human rights respect, and supply chain control. The honor acknowledges Terna's exceptional policies and performance in the ESG areas that were evaluated, such as the reduction of CO2 emissions, human capital management, and the quality and reliability of sustainability reporting. This acknowledgment also aligns with the Group's commitment to a program to attain the Net Zero Science-Based objective by 2050, as outlined in the most recent update to the 2024-2028 Business Plan.
