More and more foreign couples are choosing Italy for their weddings. Foreign couples held 16,700 marriages last year, jumping 9.8% from the previous year and generating €1.1 billion in revenue. The United States is cementing its position as the most loyal consumer, with 31.7% of total requests, followed by the United Kingdom and Germany. However, good indicators are emerging from Australia, Canada, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, India, and China, where promotional efforts are concentrating. Tuscany is the most popular region, followed by Lombardy, Campania, Piedmont, and Sicily. Lake Como, the Amalfi Coast, and Chianti are among the most popular destinations. Unlike mass tourism, destination weddings prioritize secondary destinations and the extensive high-end network. Medieval villages, country villas, and vineyards are prioritized over congested urban centers, resulting in the accumulation of widespread wealth in the region. Although the summer months continue to dominate, gatherings during other seasons are becoming more popular. In particular, the number of events increased significantly in the fourth quarter of the year, highlighting Italy's all-year appeal. Nearly half of foreign couples (46.8%) employ a professional wedding planner to handle their wedding, with an average cost of €67,000.
