Mariano Rubinacci died at the age of 83. The designer and entrepreneur, who was the architect of a significant renewal in traditional Neapolitan tailoring, continued the legacy of his father, Gennaro "Bebè", the inventor of the historic tailoring business that was established in 1932. The organization maintains its legacy under the leadership of his offspring, Luca, Alessandra, Chiara, and Marcella Rubina. Raised in London House on Via Chiaia, Mariano Rubinacci oversaw the brand's international expansion, culminating in his Mount Street boutique in London, which has become a landmark for those looking for the cut and craftsmanship of Neapolitan tailoring. Eduardo De Filippo, Vittorio De Sica, and Umberto di Savoia are some of the personalities who have worn Rubinacci. His creations are included in the permanent collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. In addition to the ancient boutique on Via Chiaia in Naples, the company also has a flagship store on Via Gesù in the heart of Milan's Quadrilatero, as well as a London store on Mount Street, which opened in 2005.
