The reopening of the Hotel Danieli, one of the world's most famous hotels, located just feet from the Bridge of Sighs and St. Mark's Square, on August 26, 2026, is highly anticipated throughout Venice. The property will reopen as a five-star luxury hotel under the Four Seasons brand, marking the international brand's first presence in the lagoon city. As with many other Venetian aristocratic residences, the property has historical origins and served a purpose long before it became a hotel. Today, the complex consists of three historic buildings of varying eras that were annexed over time and linked by covered bridges. These include the 15th-century Palazzo Dandolo, a private mansion commissioned by Doge Enrico Dandolo, the 19th-century Palazzo Casa Nuova, and the most recent addition, the Palazzo Danieli Excelsior, built in 1950. The first hospitality hub was Ca' Dandolo, which was purchased and turned into a hotel in 1822 by entrepreneur Giuseppe Dal Niel, hence the name "Danieli". The new décor will include Rubelli textiles, Venetian flooring, and Murano glass. The new Danieli will have 120 rooms, including 52 suites, with plans to expand to 176 rooms and 59 suites by 2027. Another luxury facility will be the addition of a spa, which has been planned for several years and is expected by the end of 2026. It will have three treatment rooms, one for couples, a sauna, and a hammam.
