Thanks to the renewal of the collective labor contract, hospital-employed doctors will receive pay increases of about €491 per month for 13 monthly payments.The hike will be effective this month. "The contract, which provides for average increases that have a tangible impact on wages, contributes to the enhancement of strategic skills and professionalism for the functioning of the State", commented Minister for Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo. The new deal includes 120,000 doctors and 17,000 non-medical healthcare managers. The state will also pay arrears, which average €7,000 but can exceed €14,000 for the most senior positions. The allocated resources total €1.2 billion.
