In order to honor Dante Alighieri, the art of pastry making will be combined with 3D technology: Master chocolatier Mirco della Vecchia will produce a monumental, two-meter-tall work of chocolate that depicts the Supreme Poet in a state of profound contemplation while holding an open book. For the Ciokoflò chocolate festival, which will be held from March 12th to 15th, the imposing figure will be erected in the heart of Florence and will weigh more than 300 kilograms. It is a successful struggle between tradition and the future: the sculpture was made in fifteen days of rigorous labor with an innovative 3D chocolate printer, a cutting-edge technology that converted the artist's idea into a complex and detailed structure. The shiny, fragrant surface of Ecuadorian cocoa forms the harsh features of the face and the folds of the robe, producing a textural contrast that causes the figure to almost pulse. On the pages of the poet's volume, an iconic inscription appears, veiled in mystery, inviting the viewer to draw closer and try to comprehend its hidden message.
