Italy's aerospace industry is once again a major player in the United States. The total US aerospace imports are expected to reach $42.20 billion in 2025, a 1.53% increase from 2024, according to data from Trade Data Monitor, the world's foremost provider of trade statistics, which was compiled by the Houston-based ICE Agency (Italian Trade Agency). In the same year, US imports from Italy climbed by 7.94% (to $1.71 billion), or over five times the market average. Italy's market share has increased to 4.05% (up from 3.30% in 2023), while other major European suppliers such as France, the United Kingdom, and Germany have declined, with Italy positioned to become the United States' eighth-largest partner in the sector by 2025. The airplane and helicopter components sectors, valued $1.038 billion—more than 60% of the total—will drive performance in 2025, up by 23.27% from 2024. Geographically within the United States, Italy is expanding its footprint, particularly in two critical hubs, Virginia and Texas, which will absorb 53.69% of Italian aerospace imports in 2025. Italy is one of the world's premier aerospace and defense countries, consistently ranking in the top ten internationally and fourth in Europe. With annual revenues over €16 billion and exports accounting for more than 70% of total production, the sector is one of Italy's most strategic and innovative manufacturing businesses.
