A Rome Court order dated February 6, 2026 revealed that Raffaella Carrà had an adopted son who was named the sole legitimate successor to her inheritance as well as the rights to her image and works. This son is Gian Luca Pelloni Bulzoni, who was born in Ferrara in 1964 and currently lives in Rome. He was the artist's personal secretary and manager, as well as the owner of the music publishing company Arcoiris Edizioni Musicali. The news emerged as part of a legal dispute related to the musical “Ballo ballo”, produced by a Spanish company. Pelloni Bulzoni petitioned the Court of Rome to prohibit the show's production, distribution, and performance without his agreement, citing his position as the sole successor and owner of the artist's image, voice, name, and works. According to Corriere della Sera, the judge denied the request for an injunction because the show's 36 theatrical performances had already been performed and no more were scheduled. As a result, any compensation claims must be examined on their own merits during the trial. After the news became public, the press office of the Raffaella Carrà Foundation clarified that the adoption had been decided by the artist to ensure the continuity of her activities and of the charitable initiatives to which she was particularly devoted. Pelloni Bulzoni founded the foundation in her honor, dedicating himself to solidarity initiatives and the promotion of cultural and artistic events in her memory. Raffaella Carrà, who died on July 5, 2021, at the age of 78, left no children. In addition to his adoptive son, she left behind two grandkids, Matteo and Federica Pelloni, the artist's brother's children.
