Italy’s Sports Minister Andrea Abodi has called for a renewed vision to revive the national football team, noting that downturns in performance have lasted “too long.”
He argued that clubs should give greater priority to the national team, recognizing its role in enhancing both players and the broader football system. Abodi also expressed confidence in head coach Gennaro Gattuso ahead of upcoming qualification matches.
More broadly, the minister highlighted €2.6 billion in public investment in sport and signaled openness to involving Turin in the 2030 Winter Olympics, focusing on the use of existing infrastructure.
