Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has made it clear she has no intention of stepping down, regardless of the outcome of the upcoming justice referendum. Speaking on the “Pulp Podcast,” hosted by Fedez and Mr. Marra, Meloni said her priority remains completing her term and presenting her record to voters at the end of her mandate. She also cautioned against using the referendum as a tool to express dissatisfaction with her government. Voting “No” simply to force her out of office, she argued, could backfire, leaving both her administration in place and an unreformed justice system. Defending the proposed reforms, Meloni emphasized that separating the careers of judges and prosecutors would strengthen judicial impartiality. If the “Yes” camp prevails, she plans to introduce measures preventing politicians from joining the High Council of the Judiciary for a set period, aiming to further shield the system from political influence.
