The Global University Ranking, undertaken by the Italian-Swedish communications business Lundquist, evaluated the competitiveness of Italian universities in the global market. The beginning point is that academic prestige is no longer sufficient. This is even more accurate in light of the fact that the audience is not limited to students and families; it also includes companies that are interested in training managers and establishing partnerships for innovation and culture. The rating aims to discover whether institutions have recognized the value of promoting themselves using the same strategic rationale as a firm. The Politecnico di Milano is ranked seventh overall and second for "Identity, Purpose, and Positioning", thanks to initiatives that systematically promote the integration of cultures, origins, and identities, such as Polimi Human Stories. Another Italian university ranks 13th: Bologna, which excels in "Global Perspective, Inclusion, and Student Well-Being", owing mostly to a comprehensive and extensive description of the cost of living in the Emilian capital. In a top 20 rating dominated by British universities, Venice Ca'Foscari is 16th, Pisa is 18th, and Bocconi is 20th.
