For many Italians, Easter holidays are increasingly a time to travel with their pets. According to new research, around 9 million Italians are expected to take a trip over the Easter break this year, and more than 2.1 million of them - roughly 31% - will bring along their four-legged companions. The findings come from a survey commissioned by Facile.it and carried out by research institute mUp Research. Facile.it operates as a comparison and brokerage platform for insurance, financial products, utilities, broadband services and long-term car rental.
However, a second survey commissioned by Facile.it and conducted by EMG Different highlights a significant gap in preparation: only 22% of pet owners, or nearly 5 million people, say they have taken out insurance coverage for their animals. The data suggest that while travelling with pets is becoming more common, many owners still underestimate the importance of dedicated protection when away from home.
Among the company’s recommendations is the idea of purchasing pet insurance, which can help reduce concerns linked to unexpected veterinary expenses, accidents or other travel-related issues.
