Reactivate supplies from Russia. This is the proposal to Europe renewed by the Lega political party, one of Italy's three ruling parties. Prior to the commencement of the war in Ukraine, the Kremlin was the EU's principal gas supplier. Then Putin's invasion hampered trade connections. "The Italian government is leading the charge to assist families and companies during a critical international crisis, but Brussels must also act quickly, concretely, and efficiently. Europe should reconsider oil and gas supplies from Russia", reads the statement issued by the party of Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini. Salvini's party took a strong stance, which coincides with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's Middle East mission. This solution also finds support among the opposition.
