Air BP Italia, one of the main suppliers of aircraft fuel, reports “reduced availability” of kerosene at least until April 9 at four Italian airports: Milan Linate, Venice, Treviso, and Bologna. It is the first indication of the potential ramifications of the Middle East situation. The supplier's note states that from 5.30 a.m. on April 4 to 11.30 p.m. on April 9, there will be "reduced availability of Jet A1 fuel supplied by Air BP Italia" at Milan's city airport. Therefore, "refuelling services for operators contractually linked to Air BP Italia may be subject to restrictions". Easter flights and those in the following days have operated regularly. However, with the last ship loaded with kerosene departing from the Persian Gulf and arriving in Europe on April 9, the situation on the continent could get difficult. The alert posted at Venice airport is more specific, noting the "limited availability" of kerosene and warning: "Priority will be given to medical flights, state flights, and flights lasting more than 3 hours". For any other operators "who carry out flights lasting less than 3 hours, a maximum quantity of fuel equal to 2,000 liters per aircraft will be applied". Therefore, "pilots are required to calculate a sufficient amount of fuel from the previous airport for subsequent routes". A similar message was delivered in Bologna and Treviso.
