The catering sector had (moderate) growth in 2025, despite severe structural challenges and a climate typified by economic downturn and international tensions. Fipe-Confcommercio, an association of Italian enterprises in the catering, entertainment, and tourism sectors, captured this image in its 2026 Catering Report. The Report emphasizes the stabilization of the positive trend in added value, which reaches 59.3 billion euros in 2025, representing a genuine growth of half a percentage point. Consumption reached 100 billion euros, up 0.5% from 2024, but still lower below pre-Covid levels (-5.4%). The family unit has been proven as an important strategic asset: 37.3% lead a family business, and approximately 70% of entrepreneurs receive daily assistance from family members in business management, an aspect of high identity value because it promotes the transmission of values, knowledge, and skills. The 2026 Report focuses on entrepreneurs and their biographical routes, which frequently find personal, familial, and professional stories linked.
