Italy is the world's biggest wine producer, accounting for 22 percent of the global market. Exports reached 7.8 billion euros in 2025, in an ever-changing environment: purchasing habits are shifting, and demand is becoming more focused on quality. This is what emerges from an analysis by the research department of SACE, which provides a snapshot of trends in Italian wine and sector exports, on the occasion of Vinitaly, in Verona. According to Sace, the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom continue to be the leading destination countries, accounting for about half of total exports. At the same time, new markets, such as Eastern Europe, Brazil, and Vietnam, are showing an increased interest in Italian wine.
