The scientific community has officially recognized a new Italian meteorite: a 188-gram sample discovered on Monte Bondone in Trentino and categorized as an L5 ordinary chondrite. The Italian Museum of Planetary Sciences and the University of Camerino collaborated on the study of the "Monte Bondone Meteorite". It is the first meteorite discovered in Trentino and the 44th officially acknowledged in Italy. As per academics, the sample is a primitive fragment of the Solar System that dates back over 4.5 billion years and is valuable for comprehending the origins of the Earth and the planets.
