That the most famous duo in fashion had broken apart has been news for a few days already. With a terse statement, followed by the usual leaks circulated by the magazine Bloomberg, the Dolce & Gabbana brand announced the departure of Stefano Gabbana, who resigned from the presidency. The name of the individual who will take over for the "G" of the design group that has made Mediterranean style the brand's defining feature is now official. Stefano Cantino will become the new co-CEO of Dolce&Gabbana, working alongside Alfonso Dolce, the group's president and CEO. Stefano Cantino, a political science graduate from the University of Turin, joined Dolce&Gabbana after gaining professional experience at Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci, where he held positions of increasing global responsibility in sales, communications, marketing, and corporate, eventually rising to the position of CEO. This reform comes at a difficult time for the luxury industry, which is caught between geopolitical upheavals and shifting traditions. The decision, reached last December, had already led to the appointment of Alfonso Dolce, brother of Domenico Dolce and CEO of the group, as head of the board of directors.
