The Italian furniture sector, with a projected turnover of €26.7 billion in 2025, is solidly in first position in the European rankings, extending its advantage over Germany, the second-largest producer with an estimated turnover of €21.7 billion. Foreign markets play an important role, as does the domestic market. This is according to a research conducted by Intesa Sanpaolo, which looks at the sector's competitive standing in the context of Middle Eastern tensions. Nevertheless, the domestic furniture market is anticipated to experience a modest increase in 2026, primarily due to the real estate segment and a robust tourism trend, particularly in the high-end segment, which is characterized by new openings and interior renovations. The current state of global instability may potentially work in Italy's favor, increasing its appeal.
