At Milan Design Week, Ferrari has unveiled the livery and design concept of Hypersail, a 100-foot foiling ocean monohull that marks a bold step into the world of offshore sailing. Developed as an open innovation platform, the project brings together Ferrari’s design and engineering teams with renowned naval architect Guillaume Verdier, merging automotive expertise with advanced sailing technology.
Hypersail embodies Ferrari’s philosophy of performance-driven design, where aesthetics emerge directly from function. Every element of the vessel is shaped by the interaction of wind, water, and speed, resulting in a streamlined silhouette that echoes iconic models such as the Monza SP1/SP2 and design cues from the Le Mans-winning 499P.
The vessel is powered entirely by renewable energy, combining wind, solar, and kinetic sources to support its sophisticated foiling system, allowing it to “fly” above the water for maximum efficiency and speed. Even design details, such as integrated walkable solar panels, reflect a careful balance between performance and usability.
The livery reinforces Ferrari’s heritage while embracing innovation. The use of Giallo Fly - historically Ferrari’s “second soul” - contrasts with exposed carbon fiber in a custom Grigio Hypersail, creating a look that is both functional and unmistakably Ferrari.
Hypersail will be showcased during Design Week through a dedicated exhibition at Ferrari’s flagship store in Milan, alongside a striking lighthouse installation overlooking Piazza del Duomo. Together, they position the project as a new symbol of the brand’s evolving vision, where technology, sustainability, and design converge on the open sea.
