Italy's highly specialized production structure is helping it maintain its leadership position in the global textile machinery sector. According to the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, about 86% of total revenue is exported to around 130 countries. Asia remains the most important export region, accounting for over 41% of total exports, followed by the European Union at around 23%. Last year, Italy supplied a diverse variety of textile and fiber processing machinery to Germany, including systems for fiber preparation, spinning, twisting, and secondary processing, as well as machinery for yarn manufacturing and winding systems. The export value of this product group was around €3.79 million. Italian supply of specialized knitting and textile machinery, such as machines for producing knitted fabrics, lace, nets, and technical fabrics, totaled around €2.85 million in exports.
