Carnival Corporation's Princess Cruises has ordered three next-generation Voyager-class cruise ships from Fincantieri, which will be delivered in late 2035, 2038, and 2039. Based on the “Sphere” class design - two of which (Sun Princess in 2024 and Star Princess in 2025) were built in Monfalcone - the three new vessels will be dual-fuel, principally powered by liquefied natural gas. The vessels, which will also be built at the Monfalcone shipyard, will have a gross tonnage of 183,000 tons and a passenger capacity of around 4,700. The new orders, announced at the Seatrade Cruise Global cruise expo in Miami, expand the portfolio of the American group Carnival, which, in addition to the three new ships for Princess Cruises, aims to deliver seven more new ships between 2027 and 2033. Fincantieri revealed that the new agreement with Princess Cruises exceeds two billion euros. Over the last 35 years, the Monfalcone shipyard has built 21 ships for Princess Cruises.
