In 2025, social networks were used by 89% of young individuals aged 16 to 29. According to Eurostat data, online social networks are extremely popular among young Europeans: 89.3% of those aged 16 to 29 reported using them in 2025. This figure is significantly higher than the general population, which has a usage rate of 67.3%. In 19 of the 27 EU countries, more than 90% of young people use social media. The greatest rates were found in Cyprus (98.3%), the Czech Republic (97.2%), Denmark (96.9%), and Finland (96.6%). The lowest rates were found in Italy (80.3%), Germany (84.2%), and Luxembourg (84.8%).
