“Dialogue” will be the key word of the 9th edition of the Treccani Festival of the Italian Language. The event will open in Lecce from May 8 to 10 and will continue in Rome, Cagliari, Gromo-Clusone (Bergamo), and Lecco. As part of the #leparolevalgono campaign, which aims to promote correct and informed use of the language, the Treccani Cultura Foundation, which organizes the festival, has chosen dialogue to reflect on the importance of encouraging its practice and diffusion in society and international relations, as well as reclaiming the habit of interacting authentically and sincerely in all aspects of our lives, both personal and public. According to the Foundation, "a willingness to engage is a fundamental principle of our social life. It is essential to cultivate daily intercultural, interreligious, political, and social dialogue in order to prevent significant misunderstandings and mitigate conflict. Dialogue is a tool for reconciliation between individuals and peoples, between generations, between states and their leaders".
