London has fallen in love with one of Italy’s most iconic desserts after a team of more than 100 Italian pastry chefs set a new world record for the longest tiramisu ever made. The spectacular creation, unveiled at the Chelsea Old Town Hall, measured an astonishing 440.58 meters. The effort required two days of intense, coordinated work to ensure the dessert appeared as a single, seamless structure, one of the key requirements set by Guinness World Records judges. The scale of the project was staggering: 19,000 eggs, two tonnes of mascarpone, 400 kilograms of sugar, and more than 128,000 ladyfingers. The recipe was certified by renowned pastry master Iginio Massari, guaranteeing authenticity and quality for a dessert that has become a global symbol of Italian culinary excellence. The official announcement turned into a festive celebration, complete with applause and waving Italian flags, reinforcing tiramisu’s status as one of the world’s most beloved desserts.
