Assets held abroad by Italian taxpayers are nearly €225 billion. In 2024, more than 122,000 Italian taxpayers claimed real estate abroad worth €34 billion, largely unchanged from the previous year. Financial assets totaled €191.4 billion, up from €178.1 billion in 2023. This is based on tax information for 2024 income. Foreign financial assets are showing more expansion in terms of both individuals and values. In 2023, more than 332,600 taxpayers disclosed assets of €178.1 billion, with an IVAFE tax of around €85.7 million (+8.5%). In 2024, the number of taxpayers will exceed 368,400, and the total value will reach - as previously stated - 191.4 billion, while the declared tax will grow to 103.9 million euros (+21.2%).
