Venezia FC has officially returned to Serie A following a one-season absence. Promotion came on May 1st, following a critical Serie B matchday: the critical 2-2 draw against Spezia, paired with Monza's simultaneous defeat, allowing Giovanni Stroppa's team to celebrate with one round to spare. Venezia has advanced from Serie B to Serie A three times since 2021. This year, with Stroppa on the bench, the team has played convincingly and impressively: from the end of January, they have remained top of the league and have the highest scoring record, going unbeaten in 13 games. The attacking action has been evenly distributed: 18 players have scored at least one goal this season, with Andrea Adorante (17), Ecuadorian John Yeboah (12), and midfielder Issa Doumbia (9), among the most prolific. For Stroppa, it is yet another promotion to Serie A, after those with Crotone, Monza, and Cremonese.
