The Devil Wears Prada 2 was expected to be one of the biggest hits of the season, and it has delivered. In its opening weekend, the film grossed over $150 million worldwide, including $77 million in the United States.
The real surprise, however, has been its performance in Italy. Outside the U.S., no country has generated higher box office revenue for the film. In its first 24 hours alone, it earned more than €3 million, despite competition from other major releases.
Within just three days, the film attracted more than 1.5 million viewers in Italian cinemas - a milestone typically reserved for major hits. Alongside other releases, it contributed to making May 1, 2026, the highest-grossing day ever recorded at the Italian box office, surpassing all data since 1995.
After just four days in theaters, the film has already reached €15 million in Italy, more than double its earnings in both Germany and China. Remarkably, Italy has even outperformed the United Kingdom, despite the latter’s larger market and higher ticket prices.
The film’s success highlights Italy’s strong appetite for high-profile international releases and confirms the enduring appeal of this iconic franchise.
